About the HSF
Hawthorne Seminar Foundation Inc. is a non-profit created to fund the enrichment of students in the Seminar program at Hawthorne Elementary school. The Foundation is run entirely by parent volunteers, including our Executive Board.
We provide teachers with resources to help them create a cognitively challenging classroom environment that provides opportunities for engagement and creativity, recognizes individual differences, and encourages personal and intellectual growth. We fund educational field trips and high-quality enrichment programs that contribute to the intellectual, emotional, and social development of the children. The foundation encourages and facilitates active parental engagement, advocacy for gifted children, and fosters a sense of community, in the aims of supporting an educational environment where seminar students and their families thrive.
